Business Functionality

Overview

Portal720 provices a simple overview of Microsoft tenants and when navigating the list of tenants, the following information is available:

  • Entra Name
  • Environment Name
  • Environment Type
  • Current Version
  • Update Version
  • Update Date
  • Update State
  • Cadence

An ON720.COM APP must be installed in an environment to enable full functionality and the owner of the Business Central tenant must have granted access to allow usage of Portal720.

General basic functionality

The functionality in Portal720 focus on minimizing the time spent accessing and managing large numbers of Business Central environments:

  • Access to Portal720 supports single sign-on with a standard Microsoft work account.
  • Portal720 lists Microsoft tenants and Business Central environments giving the user a simple overview.
  • Launch Business Central directly from the list view
  • Global search functionality on all content in the portal
  • Update Date is shown in the list and configurable
  • Cadence is show in the list and configurable

The column sorting and filtering is customizable in Portal720.

Usage

Portal720 supports a Business Central consultants work in the following ways.

Tenant list

The main component in Portal720 is the Entra list. From the Entra list you can expand an Entra and get a list of the Business Central Companies in the selected Environment. By clicking on the Business Central icon in the Companies list, you will launch the individual Business Central directly.

By expanding an Entra in the list you will also se a list of Apps installed in the Environment. By expanding an App in the list, a list of all the Environments, where this App is installed, will be listed.

Search in the portal

The search bar supports search for all content in the portal. E.g. you can search for an App installed in an Environment

Update date

Change the Update Date if you want to reschedule it manually.

Cadence

AppSource apps update automatically when your environment updates, and you can choose whether this should happen with every minor and major update, or only with major updates. Per-tenant extensions are not affected by this setting and will update as chosen when the app package was uploaded to the environment.



Troubleshooting

Error Messages

If a tenent is not fully accessible in Portal720 a Warning or Alert icon is displayed next to the Entra Name in the list.
